…and Home Theater View
TL;DR: Devices View is a tech blog aimed at consumers and enterprise end users written by Avi Greengart of Techsponential. Devices View gives Techsponential a less formal outlet to cover a wide range of devices and services that informs our analysis. Devices View articles can be quick, first impressions, or cover things that don’t make sense for a Techsponential report.
Since 2004
Avi Greengart founded the industry’s first home theater research at JupiterResearch in the early 2000’s. It was profitable from the outset, but his focus was pulled to the much larger wireless market data and analysis. Avi left JupiterResearch in 2004 to focus on the growing phone market at Current Analysis, so he started HomeTheaterView.com as way to continue writing about home theater and digital entertainment. Avi was also a contributor to other publications, including Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, Slashgear, and Home Theater Magazine.
Renewed in 2019
In 2019, Avi started Techsponential, a market research and advisory firm that broadly covers consumer and end user enterprise technology. The market and product reports published on Techsponential.com are aimed primarily at industry insiders; Home Theater View became a place for A/V articles, news stories, and product reviews aimed at consumers, plus coverage of things that don’t fit Techsponential’s mandate.
Interrupted in 2025 – and Transformed
Home Theater View’s long-time host, Typepad, shut down in 2025 with less than a month’s notice. After multiple false starts, Home Theater View was incorporated into Devices View. You may find broken links, and many of the original images have been lost or misfiled, but at least all is not lost.
Devices View is a broad tech blog aimed at consumers and enterprise end users that includes A/V topics, but also AI, PCs, smartphones, digital home, XR, and more. Like Home Theater View before it, Devices View gives Techsponential a less formal outlet to cover a wide range of devices and services that informs our analysis. Devices View articles can be quick, first impressions, or cover things that don’t make sense for a Techsponential report. Devices View may also provide a platform for other writers outside of Techsponential.
